Keeping Your Home Smelling Fresh and Fabulous!

There are so many ways to keep your home smelling pleasant, and most of them cost hardly anything! Going with natural alternatives can save you time and money.
One of the easiest things you can do is grow some houseplants. Plants reduce the amount of pollution in the air, give off nourishing oxygen, and absorb the carbon dioxide that we breathe. Ferns and palms especially are natural air filters, and herbs grown in the kitchen have the added benefit of enhancing your recipes! And of course flowers add that splash of color to go along with the fragrance.
Another easy remedy is to save your citrus peels. You can boil them in water to create a pleasant aroma, or run a few through your garbage disposal to keep it smelling fresh. The acid in them also cuts down on the odor-causing bacteria that can grow in your disposal.
A favorite, especially around the holidays is to bake! Baking bread, cake or cookies always brings a wonderful atmosphere to your home! Who doesn't love the smell of fresh baked bread or cookies?
Having company over? Cook something fabulous! Nothing beats the smell of a home-cooked meal. And the wondrous aromas of meats, vegetables, and spices will tantalize the senses of your guests!
Looking for more of a quick fix? Candles are probably the most common solution. They lend atmosphere as well as fragrance. Soy candles are the best when you can find them. They last much longer than the regular paraffin candles. But candles come in such a variety of colors and scents, it is easy to find something suitable for even the most sensitive senses.
There are also a variety of sprays and powders on the market. There are powders to be sprinkled on your carpet to freshen as you vacuum it. Sprays mask or eliminate most odors and also come in a variety of delightful scents.
In short, no matter what the preference, there is an aromatic solution for each and every home.
